Our Roller Coaster Project
Our Roller Coaster Project
The purpose of our task was to build a straw roller coaster using our research skills.
We then watched videos to inspire us.
Our writing task was to watch a procedural writing video.
We then had to write our procedural.
Our reading task was to read Engineering Project for Kids and write a summary.
We watched the Summarising video on Infinite Learning Lab to help us achieve our goal.
Our maths word problem:
Whakapono 23 is doing a S.T.E.A.M. project. We are building a rollercoaster out of straws. There are 7 groups and each group needs 28 straws. How many straws does Mrs Rassool need to buy for the class. We had to show our working.
We also had to draw a plan of our project using our measurement skills. The perimeter had to be calculated divided by the size of the straw. We could then let our teacher know how many straws we needed.
The best part we have all been waiting for, the building of our straw roller coasters.
Wait till the end of the week when our finish products are published.
